On Monday Michael Gove will announce plans to grant Ukrainian refugees access to stay in the UK and in light of this news, we asked Gen Z if the UK is doing enough or if more support is still needed.
In the latest government plans, Ukrainian refugees will be granted access to live in the UK for an initial 12months and be entitled to work, claim benefits and access public services. UK citizens are also being encouraged to help house the tens of thousands Ukrainians who are fleeing the invasion from Russia.
When asked if these measures are enough, the Gen Z opinion was divided. In a quick poll, it was revealed that more than half (52%) of 16-24-year olds felt that the UK was providing adequate support, whilst 48% felt that more needs to be done. The majority of respondents (43%) 'somewhat agree' that the UK is providing enough support.
