YouthSight, the independent specialist Gen Z and Millennial research agency, has re-modelled its business more closely around customer needs. The company has restructured into two divisions; Insight and Panel and Data Services. The move comes after two years of strong growth and is designed to ensure clients continue to receive brilliant service.
The divisions will be led by Josephine Hansom and Tatenda Musesengwa. Josephine was formerly YouthSight’s Director of Youth Research and is now MD of the Insight business. Tatenda was formerly Client Services Director and is now MD of the new Panel and Data Services business.
Company founder, Ben Marks becomes CEO, focusing his attentions on growth and new opportunities. Ben commented, “Although we’ve done well recently – we’ve enjoyed over 20% annual growth for the past two years - there’s always been a small amount of a confusion as to whether we’re a panel or an insight consultancy. Well, the answer is, we’ve always been both. We hope this restructure makes this clearer and easier to understand for current and prospective clients. And, importantly, more efficient for us to operate, too.” Ben continued, “Our new website showcases the structural change and early feedback has been positive.”
YouthSight runs the UK’s largest youth research panel, with 150,000 active members. Fieldwork services – both qualitative and quantitative – together with a suite of data services, will be sold through the company’s Panel and Data Services division, while YouthSight’s research consultancy services will be available through the Insight division.
Panel and Data Services clients include GfK, Populus, Ipsos, C-Space, Freuds and Ogilvy.
Insight’s brand team clients include, Tinder, O2, the BBC, and Walgreens Boots Alliance, Thomas Cook, and the Football Association. Insight’s Higher Education team work with over 90 UK universities including University of Oxford, Kings College London and Coventry University.
Discussing the re-structure, Panel and Data Services MD, Tatenda Musesengwa commented, “I’m excited about these changes and I’ve already been able to invest in more capacity. My ten-strong team will soon be twelve and our suite of services is growing too, in response to client demand: both from within the MR industry but also from the wider family of marketing services businesses. We want to be sure we can always provide the best offer possible to all our clients and these changes will help ensure this happens”
Insight MD, Josephine Hansom said, “Technological and social change is occurring at uncompromising speed and its impact is felt first and fastest by younger consumers. We help clients – whether they’re brands or universities - grow their market share by improving their saliency and relevance to young consumers.” She continued, “This restructure means my team of eleven talented researchers can focus more on providing deeper insights for clients, and we can now divert a portion of project management to YouthSight’s brilliant Panel and Data Services division. We’re fired up about the opportunities this restructure brings.”
Ben Marks concluded, “In the last few years we’ve changed so much about the business. As well as this restructure, we’ve moved all our systems onto cutting edge, integrated cloud-based platforms. We’ve upskilled our teams, we’ve adopted new methods and products and we brought in significant new senior talent both to the research team and to our Board in the shape of Richard Sheldrake, former COO of BDRC Group. It’s exciting times here, and we’re confident this restructure will help us continue our journey of growth and improvement.”
